SATI ZECH
Sati Zech is a German artist,
she was born in Karlsruhe,1958,
lives and works in Berlin since 1979.
She studied from 1982 to 1987 at the
Berlin Hochschule der Kunste
(formally West Berlin's Academy of
Fine Arts),concentrating on sculpture
and drawing with Lothard Ficher.
After truly remarkable beginnings in three dimensional mediums,she focused on works in and on a planar surface because of her wish to avoid close association with her teacher.
The artworks of Sati Zech
are unique amalgams of historically
ritualistic mark-making and
21st Century self-expression.
